North West London Pathology, one of the UK’s largest NHS pathology networks, supports more than 40 million billable tests annually across seven hospital sites, more than 280 GP practices, and a population of over 2 million people.

NWLP’s microbiology teams were manually adding required media protocols for approximately 72 culture orders per day because key order comment information was not consistently triggering the correct LIMS workflow behaviour.

NWLP implemented a targeted LIMS automation improvement that enabled the system to recognise specific order comment text and automatically apply required media protocols before culture set-up.
