University of Miami, an academic medical center supporting multiple hospitals, satellite facilities, outreach operations, and specialized pathology workflows, was preparing for a large-scale transition from several legacy laboratory systems to Epic Beaker.
The Problem
University of Miami needed to maintain stability across Sunquest Laboratory, CoPath, PowerPath, SoftBank Blood Bank, Histotrac, and related laboratory workflows while internal teams focused on Epic Beaker build, testing, and go-live readiness activities.
The Solution
University of Miami implemented a legacy laboratory support strategy designed to preserve operational continuity, support workflow improvements, and reduce strain on internal teams during the Epic Beaker transformation.
Contribution
JTG provided laboratory IT support, LIS maintenance, workflow optimization, vendor coordination, system extracts, operational troubleshooting, and legacy-system stabilization, helping University of Miami maintain reliable laboratory operations throughout the Beaker transition.
